According to the rock and soil conditions, commonly used drill bits include hardened cross-cut drill bits, tungsten carbide cross-cut drill bits, clay bits, hardened button drill bits, and tungsten carbide button drill bits.

- The hardened cross-cut drill bit suits mudstone, gravel soil, chalk, lime soil, lime clay, artificial fill, and weak mudstone.
- The tungsten carbide cross-cut drill bit suits soft to medium-hard rock, gravel mixed with large pebbles, rock formations with developed fissures, and unreinforced concrete.
- Hardened button drill bit suits fractured strata, soft sandstone, limestone, gravel, compact or cemented soil, and soft rock formations.
- Tungsten carbide button drill bit suits soft to medium-hard rock, stone walls, crushed stone, broken rock, and large pebbles.
- Clay bit suits clay, soft soil, sand, gravel, and mixed fill.
